Can Khyber Pakhtunkhwa be part of Afghanistan in the future again? Is it possible?

Anything is possible. No one really knows what the future is going to be like a hundred years from now. But it is extremely unlikely that the region of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will be a part of Afghanistan anytime the near future.

The region of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (atleast most of it) was lost by the Barakzai Dynasty of Afghanistan to the Sikh Empire 1834. It was then annexed by the British Empire in the aftermath of the Second Anglo-Sikh War in 1849. It remained as a part of British India for about a century. The region became a part of Pakistan following the Partition of the Indian Subcontinent in 1947. This means that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has not been a part of Afghanistan for almost two hundred years now.

The only realistic chance that Afghanistan had at taking Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was in the early years of Pakistan. However, it was unable to do so at the time. The chance of such a union happening has been decreasing with every passing decade. Pakistan has become far more stable now. With a far more solid national identity. Afghanistan far less so.

The population of KPK is bigger than Afghanistan.

There are more Pak Pashtuns than the entire population of Afghanistan (which are at each others throat).

The GDP of KPK is bigger than Afghanistans, which is surviving on AID for basic survival.

4+ million afghans are refugees in Pakistan.

Afghans waiting to enter Pak at Torkham Border crossing:

Here are the fun parts

  • Population of KPK is larger than Entire Afghanistan.
  • Economy of KPK is also much bigger than that of Entire Afghanistan.
  • Pakistani Pusthuns makes up around 20-30% of the Armed forces.
  • There are more Pasthuns in Pakistan than in Afghanistan.
  • It's only the Afghan Side that doesn't recognize Durrand line(the entire world recognize Durand line as the international border between Pakistan and Afghanistan) and want KPK to become part of Afghanistan
  • To All Afghans, Why would Pakistani Pasthuns want to go back a 1000 year by Joining Afghanistan.
  • Keeping in view the above points It'll probably be better if Afghanistan joins Pakistan (considering Pakistanis will accept Afghanistan)
  • Afghans have a bad reputation in Pakistan or at least in Karachi they are known to be thieves, smugglers etc
  • Pakistani Pashtuns are religious, peaceful folks
  • There are probably more Pasthuns in Karachi than in Kabul lol.
  • Afghans always seem to forget Pakistani Pashtuns voted to become a part of Pakistan of in 1947
  • Pakistani Pashtuns owes there loyalty to the State of Pakistan not Afghanistan.
  • Afghans who claims these type of things usually live in forigen countries they won't dare step into there own country yet they want Pakistani Pashtuns to join Afghanistan lol.
  • Why would someone want to become a part of the Country whose citizens are literally trying to get inside his own country?

Anyway As the literacy rate increases Afghans will come to there senses or well The country is literally run by different terriorst groups anyway so it doesn't really matter what bunch of Afghan keyboard warriors say.
